Power Generation and the Environment
When we look at the sustainability of an energy resource required for electricity generation, we need to consider its impact on the environment. In other words, how much of a given energy resource we may use, and at what rate, so that the environment will not be adversely affected? We need therefore to consider factors such as:
Power Generation and the Environment The amount of resources needed to produce a certain quantity of electricity
Power Generation and the Environment The amount and type of waste it produces, and the space required to store the waste and keep it away from the environment
Power Generation and the Environment The effect on the environment from the discharge of any waste that is not sequestrated
Power Generation and the Environment The amount of standby capacity needed should electricity from a given resource fall short of demand
